La Sagrada Familia

The Passion Façade of La Sagrada Familia. This side of the building was completed long after the death of Gaudi. The sculptor, Josep Subirachs, has not attempted to imitate Gaudi's work but has produced strong images of his own. The sculptures, denoting the 14 stations of the Cross, on three levels, are in an S-shaped sequence starting with the Last Supper at bottom left and ending with Christ's burial at top right.


The sculpture of Jesus on the cross (made up of two horizontal I-beams) is at the center of the sculptures.
